I believe the answer is:

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

This clue might be a double definition.

'surgeon discharges' is the first definition.
Although both the answer and definition are plural nouns, I cannot understand how one could define the other.

'one of the runners' is the second definition.
The definition and answer can be both man-made objects as well as being plural nouns.
Maybe they are linked in a way I don't understand?

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for rugs that I've seen before include "Carpets" , "Wigs?" , "Floor mats or thick blankets" , "Floor covering" .)

I've seen this clue in the Irish Times (Crosaire) and the Irish Times.
