Swagger, showing part of a framework (5)
I believe the answer is:
strut
'swagger' is the definition.
(both can mean to walk around arrogantly)
'part of a framework' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'part' could be 'ut' (ut is a kind of part) and 'ut' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'str' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'showing' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for strut that I've seen before include "Take vain steps" , "(Walk with) a stiff pompous gait" , "Strengthening bar" , "Bar; walk stiffly" , "Longitudinal brace" .)
