Swiss division almost producing poetry (5)
I believe the answer is:
canto
'swiss division' is the definition.
'canto' can be an answer for 'division' (I have seen 'Division of poem' mean 'canto' so perhaps 'division' could also mean 'canto'). I'm unsure of the 'swiss' bit.
I can't explain the remainder of the clue.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for canto that I've seen before include "melodic piece of music" , "Poetic piece" , "Melody in choral music" , "Highest part in a piece of choral music -- act on (anag)" , "Major division of a long poem" .)
