Take in the world of a naval type? (6)
I believe the answer is:
absorb
'a naval type?' is the definition.
The definition and answer can be both related to thinking as well as being verbs in their base form.
Maybe they are linked in a way I don't understand?
'take in the world' is the wordplay.
'take in' becomes 'abs' (I can't explain this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'the world' becomes 'orb' (I have seen 'The World' mean 'orb' so perhaps 'world' could also mean 'orb').
'abs'+'orb'='ABSORB'
'of' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for absorb that I've seen before include "Suck up or take in" , "Assimilate or take in as a sponge" , "Carved figure" , "Understand" , "hold" .)
