Ross

I believe the answer is:

elope

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'take off' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)

'hub staff set up' is the wordplay.
'hub' becomes 'e' (I can't justify this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'staff' becomes 'pole' (I've seen this before).
'set up' says the letters should be written in reverse (in a down clue, letters go up).
'e'+'pole'='epole'
'epole' in reverse letter order is 'ELOPE'.

'for love field at' acts as a link.
This may not be correct. Some or all of it may belong to another bit of the clue.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for elope that I've seen before include "escape" , "go off to the match?" , "Run away to wed" , "Run away together" , "Run away with one's beloved" .)

I've seen this clue in The Sunday Times and The Times.
