Crossword Genius

Talk about location of carnival vehicle (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

chariot

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'vehicle' is the definition.
(I know that chariot is a type of Military vehicle)

'talk about location of carnival' is the wordplay.
'talk' becomes 'chat' (I've seen this in another clue).
'about' is an insertion indicator.
'location of carnival' becomes 'rio' (I can't explain this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'chat' placed around 'rio' is 'CHARIOT'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for chariot that I've seen before include "ceremonial carriage" , "Two-wheeled horse-drawn vehicle used in battle" , "Vehicle in Ben Hur?" , "A torch I placed on old wheeled two-vehicle" , "ride in carriage" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
