Team the Spanish get even with (6)
I believe the answer is:
eleven
'team' is the definition.
(I know that eleven is a type of team)
'the spanish get even with' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'the spanish' could be 'el' ('the' in Spanish) and 'el' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'even' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for eleven that I've seen before include "sports team?" , "Number on a soccer team" , "Football or cricket team?" , "Number, on a team maybe" , "Not first team (6,6) - See 24" .)
