Temperature in still: alcohol's making blends (11)
I believe the answer is:
intertwines
'blends' is the definition.
The answer and definition can be both to do with contact as well as being verbs in their -s form.
Perhaps they are linked in a way I don't understand?
'temperature in still alcohol's' is the wordplay.
'temperature' becomes 't' (abbreviation).
'in' is an insertion indicator.
'still' becomes 'inert' (not moving).
'alcohol's' becomes 'wines' (wine is a kind of alcohol).
't' put into 'inert' is 'intert'.
'intert'+'wines'='INTERTWINES'
'making' acts as a link.
