Tenacity for every dismissal (12)
I believe the answer is:
perseverance
'tenacity' is the definition.
(I know that tenacity can be written as perseverance)
'every dismissal' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'every' could be 'per' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'per' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'severance' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'for' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for perseverance that I've seen before include "Determination" , "Tenacity, doggedness" , "Persistence, indefatigability" , "Steady persistence" , "It may get you through" .)
