I believe the answer is:

brush

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

This might be a double definition.

'the end' is the first definition.
The definition and answer can be both acts as well as being singular nouns.
Perhaps they are linked in a way I don't understand?

'a fox' is the second definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I don't see how they can define each other.

'of' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for brush that I've seen before include "Cleaning implement" , "Undergrowth, fox tail" , "Sweeping implement" , "Tool for cleaning or painting" , "Sweep" .)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard.
