'eventually' is the definition.
I know nothing about this answer so I cannot judge whether it can be defined by this definition.

'the reason inquisitive children get' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'reason' could be 'cause' (I've seen this before) and 'cause' is found within the answer.
'get' could be 'be' ('get' can mean 'come to be') and 'be' is found in the answer.
This accounts for all the letters.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

(Other definitions for because that I've seen before include "Beginning to explain" , "For the reason that" , "Thanks to this" , "Owing to" , "Since" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
