The richer for not getting on? (6,3)
I believe the answer is:
better off
'the richer' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'for not getting on?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
an anagram of 'for' is 'rof' which is located in the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for better off that I've seen before include "having lost less" , "in happier financial circumstances" , "Richer" , "with more money" , "wealthy" .)
