The spirit of my French translation (5)
I believe the answer is:
demon
'the spirit' is the definition.
(demon is a kind of spirit)
'my french translation' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'my french' could be 'mon' ('my' in French) and 'mon' is present in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'of' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for demon that I've seen before include "Wizard" , "Inspiring force" , "Evildoer" , "Fallen angel" , "Bad spirit" .)
