The very little sound we make (3)
I believe the answer is:
wee
'the very little' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'sound we make' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'we' is within the answer.
A single letter 'e' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for wee that I've seen before include "Small like Willie Winkie" , "Little (Scottish)" , "Informally tiny as in Scotland" , "Little or tiny in Scotland" , "Small, like Willy Winkie" .)
