Those on the far left of the snooker table? (4)
I believe the answer is:
reds
'left of the snooker table?' is the definition.
'reds' can be an answer for 'left'. I also know that 'snooker' relates to this answer.
'those on the far' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'on' could be 're' ('on' can be mean 'with reference to') and 're' is found in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for reds that I've seen before include "Colours for communists" , "First snooker balls to be potted" , "Left-wingers" , "Scarlet and crimson, say" , "These are not right" .)
