dramas

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'thrillers' is the definition.
(thriller is a type of drama)

'shot while in glasgow' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'shot' could be 'dram' (of whisky say) and 'dram' is found within the answer.
'while' could be 'as' (eg 'while I walked' means 'as I walked') and 'as' is found within the answer.
This accounts for all the letters.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

'maybe' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for dramas that I've seen before include "sensations" , "crises" , "Theatrical plays" , "works" , "Tragic situations" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
