Crossword Genius

Tightly bound printing material stored over in cupboard (5-4)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

close-knit

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'over in cupboard' is the definition.
Both the answer and definition are adjectives. Perhaps there's a link between them I don't understand?

'tightly bound printing material stored' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'tightly' could be 'close' (I've seen this before) and 'close' is present in the answer.
'material' could be 'knit' (knit is a kind of material) and 'knit' is located in the answer.
This accounts for all the letters.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for close-knit that I've seen before include "Intimate as a group" , "No tickles, being woven tightly" , "Bound together as by family ties" , "Bound together by strong relationships" , "Tightly bound together" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
