Tin with new filling: Irish food (9)
I believe the answer is:
antipasti
'food' is the definition.
(I have seen 'Italian food' mean 'antipasti' so perhaps 'food' could also mean 'antipasti')
'tin with new filling irish' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
an anagram of 'tin' is 'nti' which is present in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for antipasti that I've seen before include "Italian diner might offer these" , "Italian appetizers" , "Carpaccio and caponata" , "first course" , "Italian hors d'oeuvres" .)
