Crossword Genius

Tintin work featured clones (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

twins

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'featured clones' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are verbs in their -s form, I can't see how one could define the other.

'tintin work' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'work' could be 'w' (physics abbreviation) and 'w' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'tins' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for twins that I've seen before include "Two offspring born at the same time to the same mother" , "Gemini" , "Matching pairs" , "Sign" , "Two born together" .)

I've seen this clue in The Daily Express.
