Title that can be reversed (5)
I believe the answer is:
madam
'title that' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I don't see how one could define the other.
'be reversed' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'be' could be 'am' and 'am' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'mad' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'can' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for madam that I've seen before include "How one may address a woman" , "Titled lady" , "Polite form of address for a woman" , "Woman with status - girl with bad manners" , "Conceited girl (colloq.)" .)
