Told where pupil might be before education (8)
I believe the answer is:
informed
'told' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'pupil might be before education' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'be' could be 'form' (forming is a kind of being) and 'form' is located in the answer.
'education' could be 'ed' (abbreviation - e.g. sex ed) and 'ed' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'in' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).
'where' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for informed that I've seen before include "Passed on knowledge" , "Imparted knowledge" , "Knowledgeable or briefed" , "Gave knowledge to" , "Expert" .)
