Ross

I believe the answer is:

overdraft

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'bank' is the definition.
The definition and answer can be both related to property as well as being singular nouns.
Maybe there's an association between them I don't understand?

I cannot understand how the remainder of the clue works.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for overdraft that I've seen before include "Red balance" , "Bank facility to spend more than you have" , "Potential problem with bank" , "For advert, allowed to exceed amount lodged in bank" , "Bank's debt facility" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
