Too old, flier belonging to old man? (4,2)
I believe the answer is:
past it
'too old' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'flier belonging to old man?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'flier' could be 'tit' (type of bird) and 'tit' is found within the answer.
'man?' could be 'p' (abbreviation for pawn, a chess piece or 'man') and 'p' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'as' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
(Other definitions for past it that I've seen before include "No longer in one's prime" , "Too old to be of use" , "No longer competent" , "Ageing" , "Unable to function any more, perhaps due to age" .)
