Too weakly ineffectual to get out of the rain? (3)
I believe the answer is:
wet
'rain?' is the definition.
(I've seen this in other clues)
'too weakly ineffectual to get out of the' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'the' could be 't' (the is pronounced as a 't' sound in some dialects) and 't' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'we' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for wet that I've seen before include "Moderately Conservative" , "Moistened" , "Saturated; rainy" , "Rainy; feeble person" , "Saturated with liquid" .)
