Ross

I believe the answer is:

right

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

I believe this clue is a quadruple definition!!

'tory' is the first definition.
(I've seen this before)

'absolutely' is the second definition.
(thesaurus)

'in accordance with' is the third definition.
Both the answer and definition are adverbs. Maybe there's a link between them I don't understand?

'the' acts as a link.

'law? well' is the fourth definition.
'right' can be an answer for 'well' (thesaurus). I am unsure of the 'law?' bit.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for right that I've seen before include "Sound" , "Girth (anag)" , "licence" , "Starboard side" , "correctly" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
