Transferred basics as X-coordinate? (8)
I believe the answer is:
abscissa
'x-coordinate?' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'transferred basics as' is the wordplay.
'basics as' can be anagrammed to 'ABSCISSA'.
But, I am not clear how the anagram is indicated.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for abscissa that I've seen before include "X-coordinate on a graph" , "Intercept" , "quantity on graph" , "X co-ordinate" .)
