Transported girl goes to end of road (7)
I believe the answer is:
carried
'transported' is the definition.
('carry' can be a synonym of 'transport')
'girl goes to end of road' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'girl' could be 'carrie' and 'carrie' is found in the answer.
A single letter 'd' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for carried that I've seen before include "Transmitted; borne" , "Held" , "Conveyed, transported" , "Published" , "Bore" .)
