Although both the answer and definition are past participle verbs, I can't see how one could define the other.
'hotel breaking furniture' is the wordplay.
'hotel' becomes 'inn' (inn is a kind of hotel).
'breaking' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'furniture' becomes 'bed' (bed is a kind of furniture).
'inn' put into 'bed' is 'BINNED'.
