Two cricket sides appearing occasionally (3,3,2)
I believe the answer is:
off and on
'occasionally' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'two cricket sides appearing' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'appearing' could be 'on' (as in 'who's on TV tonight?') and 'on' is found in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for off and on that I've seen before include "Intermittent" , "Now and then, stop and start" , "Switch options" , "From time to time" , "Intermittently" .)
