Two letters are said to name her (5)
I believe the answer is:
ellen
'her' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'two letters are said to name' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'name' could be 'elle' and 'elle' is found within the answer.
A single letter 'n' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for ellen that I've seen before include "MacArthur, round-the-world yachtswoman" , "It could be Terry" , "the Lady of the Lake" , "Terry perhaps" , "Girl" .)
