Unaided, people replacing one are still wrong (9)
I believe the answer is:
unamended
'still wrong' is the definition.
(not yet amended)
'unaided people replacing one are' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'people' could be 'men' (men are people) and 'men' is located in the answer.
'one' could be 'un' (northern English dialect form of 'one') and 'un' is found within the answer.
'are' could be 'a' (the 'are' is a metric unit of area) and 'a' is located in the answer.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Another definition for unamended that I've seen is " no change here".)
