Uncompromising Dad heard out when he interrupts (4-6)
I believe the answer is:
hard-headed
'uncompromising' is the definition.
Both the answer and definition are adjectives.
Maybe there's a link between them I don't understand?
'dad heard out when he interrupts' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
an anagram of 'heard' is 'ardhe' which is within the answer.
'when' could be 'e' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'e' is located in the answer.
an anagram of 'dad' is 'add' which is present in the left over letters.
A single letter 'h' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for hard-headed that I've seen before include "Tough" , "as aggressive old goats might be?" .)
