Unconventional, like picture removed from art gallery? (3-3-4)
I believe the answer is:
off-the-wall
'unconventional' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'picture removed from art gallery?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'removed' could be 'off' (as in an item of clothing taken off) and 'off' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'thewall' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'like' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for off-the-wall that I've seen before include "Conspicuously or grossly unconventional" , "like a newly escaped convict?" , "Original" .)
