'undergraduate say' is the definition.
(I know that undergrad is a type of college boy)

'escapade acquiring two poor grades' is the wordplay.
'escapade' becomes 'stunt' (I can't explain this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'acquiring' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'two poor grades' becomes 'de'.
'stunt' placed around 'de' is 'STUDENT'.

'in' is the link.

(Other definitions for student that I've seen before include "University attendee" , "One at university" , "Learner, pupil" , "Undergraduate maybe" , "One in higher education" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
