Uphill standard must accommodate motorway slope (4)
I believe the answer is:
ramp
'slope' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'uphill standard must accommodate motorway' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'motorway' could be 'm' (as in motorway names - M1, M4 etc) and 'm' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'rap' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for ramp that I've seen before include "Wheelchair access?" , "An elevation for pram" , "Change of level - swindle" , "Sloping surface connecting two levels" , "Something that's not on the level" .)
