'sacked city' becomes 'troy' (Troy is an example. I am not sure about the 'sacked' bit.).
'in' is an insertion indicator.
'endless' means to remove the last letter.
'wasteland' becomes 'desert' (I've seen this in another clue).
'desert' with its last letter taken off is 'deser'.
'troy' put within 'deser' is 'DESTROYER'.
