I believe the answer is:

engrave

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'chase' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'very dangerous' is the wordplay.
'very' becomes 'en' (I can't justify this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'dangerous' becomes 'grave' (synonyms).
'en'+'grave'='ENGRAVE'

'nurse leads' acts as a link.
This may not be correct. Some or all of it may belong to another bit of the clue.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for engrave that I've seen before include "Cut (design) into a hard surface" , "Re: vegan (anag.)" , "Cut (name into cup)" , "Carve into surface as of medal" , "To make an impression" .)

I've seen this clue in The Independent.
