Very valuable, but reduce the charge? (9)
I believe the answer is:
priceless
'very valuable' is the definition.
'priceless' can be an answer for 'valuable' (similar in meaning). I'm not sure about the 'very' bit.
'reduce the charge?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'charge?' could be 'price' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'price' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'less' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'but' is the link.

(Other definitions for priceless that I've seen before include "Killing" , "unaffordable?" , "Invaluable - very funny" , "Wonderful" , "Rich" .)
