Virtuous type to go on bike or walk? (6)
I believe the answer is:
stride
'walk?' is the definition.
(stride can mean to walk around)
'virtuous type to go on bike' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'go' could be 'ride' (riding is a kind of going) and 'ride' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'st' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'or' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for stride that I've seen before include "Walk with long steps" , "Step out energetically" , "Extended footstep" , "Long decisive step" , "Take long paces" .)
