Voting for what's proposed brings advancement (9)
I believe the answer is:
promotion
'advancement' is the definition.
(I know that advancement can be written as promotion)
'voting for what's proposed' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'for' could be 'pro' (as in being 'pro' something) and 'pro' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'motion' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'brings' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for promotion that I've seen before include "Advancement" , "sales campaign" , "Publicity campaign" , "Step up" , "that should result in more money" .)
