Water is extracted from fruit (4)
I believe the answer is:
rain
'water' is the definition.
(rain is a kind of water)
'extracted from fruit' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'from' could be 'in' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'in' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'ra' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'is' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for rain that I've seen before include "bad weather" , "Pelt" , "Precipitation" , "Falling moisture" , "downfall?" .)
