Crossword Genius

Wave to the Tory leader from one's place in Parliament (4)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

seat

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'place in parliament' is the definition.
'seat' can be an answer for 'place' (synonyms). I am unsure of the 'in parliament' bit.

'wave to the tory leader from one's' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'the' could be 't' (the is pronounced as a 't' sound in some dialects) and 't' is present in the answer.
'leader' could be 'e' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'e' is found in the answer.
'one' could be 'a' (a thing is one thing) and 'a' is located in the answer.
A single letter 's' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for seat that I've seen before include "'A chair, say (4)'" , "Constituency; location" , "Chair - bottom" , "Somewhere to sit" , "See 10" .)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard.
