Weak argument for demolishing a scarecrow? (5,3)
I believe the answer is:
straw man
'scarecrow?' is the definition.
(I know that scarecrow can be written as straw man)
'weak argument for demolishing a' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'weak' could be 'w' (physics symbol as in W-boson) and 'w' is found within the answer.
'a' could be 'an' and 'an' is found in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for straw man that I've seen before include "fake" , "Spurious argument" , "Person who is a sham" , "Proposition to be argued over" , "invented, for sake of argument" .)
