What you keep with practice or give up? (4,2)
I believe the answer is:
hand in
'give up?' is the definition.
(to hand something in is to surrender it)
'what you keep with practice' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'with' could be 'and' and 'and' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'hin' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
'or' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
I've seen this clue in The Times.
