Crossword Genius

What's up after stink in feeble opera (2,6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

la boheme

'opera' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'what's up after stink in feeble' is the wordplay.
'what's up' becomes 'he' (I am not sure about this - if you are sure you should believe this answer much more).
'after' means one lot of letters go next to another.
'stink' becomes 'BO' (body odour).
'in' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'feeble' becomes 'lame' (lame can mean feeble or pathetic).
'he' after 'bo' is 'bohe'.
'bohe' put within 'lame' is 'LA BOHEME'.

(Other definitions for la boheme that I've seen before include "Opera by Puccini" , "18 [OPERA]" , "musical work" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
