Crossword Genius

Where little learning can be observed (6,6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

infant school

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'where little learning can be observed' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I can't understand how one could define the other.

'where little learning' is the wordplay.
'where little' becomes 'infant' (I am not sure about this - if you are sure you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'learning' becomes 'school' (school is a kind of learning).
'infant'+'school'='INFANT SCHOOL'

Can you help me to learn more?

(Another definition for infant school that I've seen is " Place where youngsters learn something".)

I've seen this clue in The Irish Independent.
