Crossword Genius

Where offensive Greek waiters were tweaking Jon's hot rear (6,5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

trojan horse

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'where offensive greek waiters' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I don't understand how one could define the other.

'tweaking jon's hot rear' is the wordplay.
'tweaking' is an anagram indicator (I've seen 'tweaked' mean this (I've seen this in other clues)).
'jons'+'hot'+'rear'='jonshotrear'
'jonshotrear' is an anagram of 'TROJAN HORSE'.

'were' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for trojan horse that I've seen before include "Iliad wooden construction" , "the Greeks aggressively piled out of" , "Trap intended to undermine the enemy position (from Greek myth)" , "A trap to be wary of (a wooden one?)" , "Subversive means of attack" .)

I've seen this clue in The Independent.
