Where spring is over in its current form (5)
I believe the answer is:
oasis
'where spring' is the definition.
'oasis' can be an answer for 'spring' (I've seen this before). I am not certain of the 'where' bit.
'is over in its current form' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'is' is present in the answer.
'over' could be 'o' (cricket abbreviation) and 'o' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'as' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for oasis that I've seen before include "Pop group" , "Fertile place in a desert, watering-hole" , "place of refuge" , "Green area in desert" , "Desert sanctuary" .)
