Wholehearted call for total strike? (3-3)
I believe the answer is:
all-out
'wholehearted' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'call for total strike?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'total' could be 'all' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'all' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'out' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for all-out that I've seen before include "Complete" , "Using every available energy or speed" , "Nobody home, or using every possible speed" , "Using maximum energy - no one at home?" , "Exerting maximum effort - nobody home" .)
