I believe the answer is:
suppose
'you think' is the definition.
'suppose' can be an answer for 'think' (thesaurus). I'm unsure of the 'you' bit.
'will lay on drink' is the wordplay.
'will lay' becomes 'pose' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'on' says to put letters next to each other.
'drink' becomes 'sup' (I've seen this before).
'pose' put after 'sup' is 'SUPPOSE'.
